The incumbent will serve as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant providing administrative support work relating to the care and treatment given to patients in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, patient scheduling call centers, Care in the Community Support Staff (CitC), and/or ancillary support services.
This position serves as the Supervisory Medical Support Assistant (MSA) for the Clinical Support section of Patient Business Service. The purpose of the work encompasses supervision and management of all administrative staff responsible for Clinical Support Service for Chillicothe, Ohio VAMC ICC's, including Audio, Mental Health, Pulmonary, PM&RS, PT/ Speech, Echo, and GI Clinics. The incumbent reports to the Assistant Chief, Patient Business Service.

The incumbent serves as a Medical Support Assistant (MSA) at the Fargo VA and provides clerical administrative support in the coordination, care, and treatment provided to patients throughout the Specialty Care Integrated Clinical Community (ICC), to include Pulmonary, Cardiology, Palliative, Kidney, Oncology/Infusion, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Diabetic Education, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Front Desk/Emergency Department and other specialty care areas.
The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) serves Care in the Community (CITC) at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. The AMSA's work impacts the administrative aspect of patient care, including access, scheduling/coordinating appointments using advanced clinic access principles, collecting and updating demographic and insurance information, managing the Electronic Wait List, Patient processing, and customer service.
