The incumbent serves as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant in the Surgical Care service line at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The incumbent's work impacts the administrative aspect of patient care, including: access, scheduling/coordinating appointments using advanced clinic access principles, collecting and updating demographic and insurance information managing patient processing and customer service.
The incumbent serves as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant assigned to a patient aligned care team, specialty care setting or various departments within the Medical Center. The AMSA will interface with personal computer applications as well as numerous VISTA applicants. Duties may be performed in Clinic Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), Inpatient, and Specialty Care, Mental Health, and Primary Care Outpatient Clinics.

This Physician (Radiology) position will be based at the CMC VA Medical Center working 40 hours biweekly as the Lead Interpreting Physician (LIP) of Breast Imaging, and will also have an appointment and clinical responsibilities at the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania working 40 hours biweekly.
