The incumbent serves as a Medical Support Assistant in the Daytime Clinical Call Center (DCCC). S/he works at a two-divisional teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Kentucky (UK) Medical Center at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. Incumbent will normally work at one of the locations for the two divisions (Bowling or Sousley) but may be required to work at the other location as necessary.
The Assistant Head Nurse (Assistant Unit Manager), for the Domiciliary with PCS Mental Health service is a professional RN with clinical experience and demonstrated skill related to clinical and administrative nursing practice. They exercise administrative & clinical oversight to ensure optimal healthcare delivery to Veterans receiving care through Veteran Health Indiana, and is accountable for writing and adhering to established policies, standards of care, and standards of practice.
