The Hampton VA Health Care System Center is a 1-C, teaching facility serving Eastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. The main campus is in Hampton, Virginia with 4 community-based outpatient clinics in Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, Virginia and Elizabeth City, North Carolina. There is one new Health Care Center in Chesapeake VA.
The Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) will operate within the Service located at the VA Medical Center/Health Care System (VAMC/HCS) with several Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Reports directly to the Supervisor Medical Administrator at the VA Medical Center. The VTS works with the Supervisor Medical Administrator for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, and quality improvement implementation and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program.
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as security specialist for an organization with subordinate organizations below them to protect resources from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to the organization's mission interests, national defense or national security.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
