You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN within NAVAL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING CTR.
This position serves as Supply Technician (Medical) for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas of Logistics Service within the VA Health Care System. As a Supply Technician, you will provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment.
You will serve as a Program Assistant (OA) for the staff of COMUSNAVEUR-COMSIXTHFLEET SEA; Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa (CNA); and Commander, U.S. SIXTH Fleet (C6F) Headquarters, and subordinate commands in various locations throughout the area of responsibility.

This position is in the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, Syracuse NY. The incumbent may be required to rotate within the clinical laboratory departments (bacteriology, chemistry (including endocrinology and toxicology), molecular biology, coagulation, flow cytometry, genetics, hematology, immunology, immunohematology (blood banking), mycology, parasitology, serology, urinalysis, and virology), on an as needed basis. *THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT POSITION.

The Medical Support Assistant (MSA) provides medical administrative support to one or more outpatient clinic and is an integral member of the clinic team to effectively carry out day-to-day administrative operations of the clinic. The MSA is responsible for accurate appointment management and the coordination of all administrative information between the professional staff, patient, patient caregiver and/or representative.
