The candidate will spend time as attending on the Hematology/Oncology inpatient consult service; providing consultative support to all inpatient services and serve as oncology/hematology attending on call for the consult service. This position is eligible for ad-hoc telework.
The Physician (Pathologist) for San Diego VAMC Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (PALMS) reports to the Chief of PALMS. The Anatomic and Clinical Staff Pathologist provides diagnostic services within the Department of Pathology to include potential for subspecialty coverage as training permits (examples include dermatopathology or hematopathology.)
The surgeon will provide direct surgical care to inpatient and outpatients; assist in the clinical education of surgical residents and students and pursue research opportunities (if available or desired), and participate in administrative assignments, such as committee membership. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
