This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Management (OM), VA Central Office in Washington, DC and reports directly to the Supervisory Executive Assistant (EA). The Assistant Chief Nurse, Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) Service is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of an integrated Quality and Patient Safety program for the Medical Center and all components, to include direct oversight of Accreditation, Surgical Risk Assessment, Quality Specialist and Risk Management. The position includes oversight responsibility for Patient Safety, System Redesign, Analytics and High Reliability.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
