The Safety & Occupational Health Manager serves as the designated Safety Officer for the Martinsburg VA Medical Center (MWV VAMC), a complexity level 1 C tertiary care facility. The incumbent provides direct supervisory and managerial oversight of safety staff, serves as the technical advisor to senior leadership, and has full authority to take corrective action when hazardous conditions present imminent danger.

The primary function of this position will be the interpretation of provider's orders, dispensing appropriate medications, preparation of specialized medications, and the counseling of patients on the proper administration and storage of medication. These functions include duties of a pharmaceutical nature in all areas of the pharmacy in this active medical center.
Independently performs standard examinations. Schedules patients for examinations. Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures, and rearranges patients scheduled to accommodate them. Maintain records and film files of patients examined. Cross-indexes interesting cases for teaching purposes.
