Job Summary
This position is in the Network Engineering and Operations Directorate within House Information Resources (HIR), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, U.S. House of Representatives. The directorate supports reliable connectivity to the House Data Network for the House Campus, over 820 District Offices, and various sites and facilities. This role serves as the Network Communication Specialist.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have at least three years of demonstrated experience managing Cisco networks. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. The candidate must be knowledgeable in technologies such as VPN, configuring IPSEC tunnels, and DHCP scopes. Remedy CTS experience is required Minimum of 3 years in specific experience with wide area network transport technologies Preferred Qualifications: Additional experience should include configuring, installing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches during remote sessions. Proficiency in network management, monitoring tools, and network routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, IEEE 802.x Ethernet) is essential. Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA) are highly desired. Work Environment: The successful candidate must be available for 24x7 on-call emergency support. Other official duties may be assigned as needed. Security Requirements: This position requires unescorted access to secure offsite locations which require an identification badge. In order to be approved for the applicable badge, you must be a U.S. citizen. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
