Job Summary

The United States Park Police is a law enforcement agency within the National Park Service, and has offices in the Washington DC, New York, and San Francisco Metropolitan Areas. The primary purpose of the position is to perform a variety of management and program analysis which stem from senior managers addressing USPP programs and priorities.

Job Description

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-04/01/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To Qualify At The GS-11 Level: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: 1) analyzing administrative operations or activities to improve efficiency; 2) documenting the processes of a program; and 3) working with spreadsheets for data collection, data analysis, and tracking progress. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a Ph.D. or equivalent, or three years progressively higher-level education leading to such a degree in a field related to the position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You must provide transcripts. To Qualify At The GS-12 Level: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: 1) analyzing and evaluating administrative operations or activities to improve efficiency; 2) documenting the processes of a program and recommend improvements; and 3) creating spreadsheets and reports for data collection, data analysis, and tracking progress. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
