Job Summary

This position is part of the War Media Activity. The incumbent is responsible for assisting and providing back-up for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Budget Division Chiefs. This includes, but is not limited to, developing data for presentation to Office of the Under Secretary of War Comptroller (OUSW(C)) staff, and Congressional staffers/representatives; providing guidance and assistance to subordinate budget analysts.

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Budgeting and financing mission-related programs and services sufficient to analyze exceptionally large and complex programs. Developing long-range (multi-year) budget plans utilizing the DoW PPBS process. Ensuring that obligations and expenditures of funds are in accordance with existing laws and regulations with thorough understanding of the Federal budget process and Office of the Secretary of War (OSW). Recommending adjustments to the allocation of funds within budget accounts; and evaluating changes in financial management and internal control systems in order to gather information, report findings and develop conclusions on the area being audited. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
