Job Summary
This position is a Biological Science Aid, GS- 0404-3. This position supports the Arizona Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office. Duties include assisting senior staff with non-native fish removal, recording instrument data, collecting samples, maintaining habitat, capturing and tagging fish, operating field equipment, gathering study data, and performing routine tests.
Job Description
Only experience and education obtained by 03/03/2026 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position, you must possess both the Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualification [GS-03] 1. Must have six months of general experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position or that provided familiarity with biological procedures. OR 2. Must have successfully completed 1 year of study above high school from an accredited college or university that included at least 6 semester hours in any combination of scientific or technical courses such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. PLEASE NOTE: If you are using education to qualify, you must submit a copy of your college transcripts. OR 3. Must have a combination of general experience and post high school education as described above, which meets 100% of the qualifying requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
