You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the PRODUCTION PROCESS IMPROVEMENT DIVISION of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying a wide range of accepted and approved occupational safety and health concepts, principles, practices, laws, methods, standards, techniques and regulations required to identify, evaluate and control conventional and non-conventional industrial and shipyard hazardous conditions. Experience communicating ergonomic principles to motivate individuals to act and work in a safe manner. Experience applying occupational safety and health practices applicable to equipment used in the construction and shipyard industries, materials, utility and ship systems. Experience recommending corrective measures when hazardous conditions and practices are encountered.
