Job Summary

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NAVAL ARCHITECTURE) in the Surface Ship Structural Planning Branch (256), Structural Engineering and Planning Division (Code 250), Engineering and Planning Department (200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of naval architecture concepts and principles. Experience applying knowledge of shipboard, shipboard systems inspections, shipboard repair and cost estimating or similar. Experience applying knowledge of nuclear aircraft carrier/submarine structural systems tanks, compartmentation, allocations and arrangements or similar. Experience with preparing engineering instructions, advance planning technical work documents for repair of complex nuclear and non-nuclear ship/submarines class systems and ship alterations.
