You will serve as a CONGRESSIONAL AFFAIRS STRATEGIST of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. 1) Utilizes political and congressional liaison principles, methods, practices and techniques; analytical methods; program management methods, and interpersonal relations practices, to develop and apply new approaches to difficult and complex political problems; 2) Interprets legislation and congressional relations; procedures and associated committee structure sufficient to serve as an expert and key advisor on the legislative process, congressional initiatives, and strategies addressing critical issues on Capitol Hill; 3) Interprets Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DoN) Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) leadership, Congress, and the organizations goals, objectives, programs, missions and functions of each to perform comprehensive liaison activities; and 4) Develops and/or executes strategic communications plans and messaging associated with programming and budget.
