This position is located in Tactical Operations Division, Springfield, VA. The selectee of this position serves as a Electronics Technician. You will be responsible for conducting a variety of technical projects and also represents the U.S. Marshals Service on multi-agency working groups.

Job Description

GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0856-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: 1. Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, APCO Project 25 (P25), secure communications systems, satellite communications, GPS tracking technologies, and video surveillance systems supporting law enforcement operations. 2. Analyze operational communications requirements by conducting technical surveys, evaluating system capabilities, and developing technical solutions to support tactical and law enforcement or public safety operations. 3. Plan, coordinate, and implement communications technology projects, including system deployments, equipment integration, testing, and operational support while ensuring operational readiness. 4. Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems involving communications, networking, surveillance, and related electronic systems through testing, preventative maintenance, system optimization, and corrective actions. 5. Provide technical guidance and training to users and coordinate with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to ensure interoperability, operational effectiveness, and compliance with federal regulations and policy.
