You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER MID-ATLANTIC, FRCMA VRT DEPT of FLTREADCEN DET MID ATLANTIC PAX RIVER.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of various safety and occupational health regulations, procedures, practices, and standards; 2) Ability to interpret and apply basic Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards to unsafe acts and conditions characteristic of shop and shipboard environments; 3) Experienced in evaluating various types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and researching alternative forms of PPE; 4) Ability to conduct OSH inspections to identify unsafe practices and working conditions and recommend measures to remedy or correct hazards; 5) Skilled in using job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as Microsoft Office Applications and RMI, necessary for entering and tracking program inspections, Job Hazard Analyses, Mishap Investigations, Medical Surveillance, and Training. .
