Job Summary

As a HR Specialist (Employee & Labor Relations) at the GS-0201-14, you will be part of the Employee and Labor Relations Division, Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for providing guidance on labor and employee relations issues to several organizational segments in EEOC the Headquarters and in the Field.

Job Description

For the GS-14: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower GS-13 grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Advising managers on employee and labor relations matters, including disciplinary actions, performance, grievances, leave, and federal employment laws and regulations. Interpreting federal statutes, regulations, case law, and agency policies to provide legal guidance and recommendations on employee and labor relations issues. Evaluating employee and labor relations programs, identifying compliance issues, and recommending corrective actions to improve program effectiveness and ensure compliance. Conducting legal research, preparing written legal opinions and guidance, and providing training and technical assistance to managers, supervisors, and HR staff. Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 14 level.
