Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Expanded Planning Yard Division (Code 280), Office of the Chief Engineer (Code 240), Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Experience providing engineering program management services across multiple engineering disciplines for ship systems, including structural, mechanical, electrical, weapons, and combat systems. - Experience applying a wide range of engineering concepts, principles, methods, and techniques related to ship maintenance and modernization. - Experience managing the programmatic and technical aspects of Hull Planning Yard functions and providing oversight of engineering programs. - Experience determining manning requirements, allocating manpower, monitoring the progress of engineering products, and implementing corrective actions to meet program objectives. - Experience managing financial requirements and Integrated Logistics Support functions associated with engineering programs. - Experience coordinating with stakeholders inside and outside the shipyard to support multiple availabilities in various stages of planning and execution, as well as fleet maintenance requirements. - Experience supporting the successful execution of shipyard maintenance and modernization projects in accordance with established quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
