You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the Mechanical Shop (Code 930), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Ability to apply knowledge of trade theory and techniques in order to lead journeyman mechanics through instruction and demonstration of proper work methods. Ability to apply detailed technical knowledge of work operations and apply same in leading mechanics concerning methods for jobs to be accomplished. Ability to apply operational theory, check-out procedures, and have knowledge and skill to perform marine machinery mechanic work. Ability to articulate technical knowledge, understanding and skill to co-workers working on these components/systems. Ability to maintain current technical knowledge and communicating changes to workers under his/her leadership. Ability to work with various components, tanks, and systems associated with naval submarines and surface ships. Ability to utilize marine machinery mechanic systems and equipment.
