Job Summary

This position is located in Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO), Division of Facilities and Security (DFS), Personnel Security Branch (PSB). The supervisor is Chris Heilig. This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements. This position is not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.

Job Description

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined below. Applicants at the GG-11 level must demonstrate experience such as: Assisting with federal background investigations and adjudications conducted under applicable Executive Orders and regulations (e.g., EO 10450; 10 CFR Parts 10, 11, and 25). Applying the National Security Adjudicative Guidelines (SEAD 4) in reviewing routine or moderately sensitive personnel security cases. Reviewing investigative findings, identifying inconsistencies, and drafting initial reports or case summaries under supervision. Communicating case information clearly in writing and orally. Working cooperatively with internal stakeholders and supporting personnel security processes as directed. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related. Applicants at the GG-12 level must demonstrate experience such as: Independently conducting background investigations and adjudications, including cases involving moderately complex or sensitive issues under EO 10450, EO 12968, and 10 CFR Parts 10, 11, and 25. Applying SEAD 4 to evaluate derogatory information and make adjudicative recommendations with limited supervisory review. Conducting interviews to clarify investigative findings and preparing comprehensive written analyses for management. Identifying gaps in investigative products and initiating supplemental actions in coordination with DCSA. Contributing to improvements in personnel security processes and maintaining effective working relationships inside and outside the organization.
