Job Summary

You will serve as the SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Safety and Occupational Health Divison of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading, mentoring, and directly managing a team of at least 8 Safety and Occupational Health Specialists or equivalent safety professionals in an industrial, maritime, or military environment 2) Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and auditing an Explosive Safety Program compliant with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) OP 5, Department of Defense (DoD), or equivalent high-hazard federal explosives safety regulations. Experience must include explosive hazard classifications, lightning protection systems, and quantity-distance (Q-D) criteria 3) Demonstrated technical expertise managing hazard identification and risk mitigation within a heavy industrial environment (such as a Navy Aviation Depot, shipyard, or aircraft maintenance facility). This includes experience with depot-level hazards such as confined spaces, industrial chemicals, stripping/painting operations, hangar deck safety, and aircraft ground handling. 4) Experience directly administering and executing Fall Protection (compliant with ANSI/ASSP Z359) and Respiratory Protection (compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134) programs. This includes conducting industrial hygiene reviews, fit testing protocols, engineering controls for working at heights, and managing fall protection equipment inspection systems. 5) Experience leading mishap investigations, conducting root-cause analyses, and generating hazard abatement plans in accordance with Navy safety instructions (e.g., OPNAVINST 5100 series) and federal OSHA standards.
