Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL INTERNAL SHOP MANAGER in the Mechanical Shop (930), Production Resources Department Manager (901), Production Resources Department (900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience implementing practical knowledge of nuclear and non-nuclear production trade and technical methods, procedures, materials and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of complex navy vessels, with a specialized practical knowledge of shop skilled trades practices and operations. Experience planning and coordinating complex ship repair, overhaul, and installation projects to understand scheduling, resource and qualification requirements. Experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control, and work flow control techniques. Experience investigating and analyzing practices and problems and recommending effective improvements and solutions. Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with and gain the cooperation of supervisors, managers, and co-workers on complex and controversial issues. Experience applying complex fact finding, analytical, and problem-solving methods and techniques.
