Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the LITTORAL HYDROGRAPHY BRANCH (NP421) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Job Description

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying bathymetric, hydrographic, and navigation system principles to lead technical branch operations, direct data processes, and ensure the technical quality of scientific work products. Experience managing a technical workforce by planning and distributing work assignments, evaluating performance, and fostering a fair, equitable, and professional environment. Experience developing team capabilities by identifying training needs, delivering ongoing feedback and instruction, and preparing formal evaluations to help employees address skill gaps. Experience directing technical projects from initial planning to final delivery, including setting priorities, monitoring progress, and evaluating deliverables for technical accuracy to ensure mission success Experience communicating technical concepts, briefing senior leadership on new technologies, defending technical decisions to stakeholders, and facilitating collaboration across diverse technical branches.
