Job Summary

As a Senior Congressional Liaison Specialist at the GS-0301-14, you will be part of the Legislative Affairs Division, Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for reviewing and assisting higher level staff members in researching legislative regulations and policies.

Job Description

For the GS-14: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have: Experience providing advice and recommendations to senior leadership on administrative programs, policies, operations, and strategic initiatives to support organizational goals and mission objectives. Experience leading, coordinating, and evaluating agency-wide programs, projects, or initiatives, including developing policies, analyzing operational issues, and recommending improvements. Experience conducting comprehensive research, analysis, and evaluation of administrative policies, procedures, and programs to identify trends, assess impacts, and develop solutions for leadership decision-making. Experience managing cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and preparing executive-level briefings, reports, correspondence, and recommendations on program matters. Knowledge of the legislative process in the US Congress. Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
