You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the Operations Department, Technical Control, Operations Department of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC.

Job Description

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: 1. Telecommunications Operations: Experience monitoring, patching, and operating digital, analog, audio, and optical circuitry within a Technical Control Facility (TCF) or similar network operations center. 2. SATCOM & Network Management: Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining High Frequency (HF), Super High Frequency (SHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), and Extremely High Frequency (EHF) satellite communications systems. 3. Cryptographic Handling: Practical knowledge of Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) / Communications Material System (CMS) procedures, including operating cryptographic equipment and executing secure communication protocols. 4. Incident Response & Reporting: Experience initiating outage reports, Hazardous Conditions (HAZCONs), and system health checks to resolve complex telecommunications network issues This position is within the Work Category Technician and Admin Support at Work Level II, Series and Grade GG-09.
