Job Summary

You will serve as a OPERATIONS DATA ANALYST in the office of the Operations Planning Manager branch (Code 300.1), Operations Department (Code 300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of the department's mission, policies, programs, goals, and management objectives in order to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of operations and guide the effective utilization of program data. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. Experience applying data analysis principles, concepts and skill in drawing conclusions or identifying unwanted trend areas for corrective actions. Experience utilizing proper techniques and procedures effective in monitoring and measuring the level of quality in all products and services rendered by the Department. Experience applying management principles, practices and techniques in order to provide administrative services to the Operations Department, analyze adminis­trative practices and designs and recommend improvements in procedures and policies. Experience integrating, balancing and monitoring the status of actions significant to Department mission and programs and to determine potential for improvement opportunities. Experience applying basic knowledge of Naval ships systems and over­haul/repair processes as they relate to the work of the department. Experience communicating with varying levels of management, with skills needed for written and oral communications sufficient to prepare and convey findings relating to departmental issues.
