Job Summary
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Naval Architecture and Engineering Department of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13. The ND-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-09 through the GS-11.
Job Description
This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801-series), a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), or a Naval Architect (0871-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. Applicants in positions with occupational series other than those listed (0801, 0830, and 0871) may apply; however, you must apply directly to the series listed in this vacancy that is most applicable to your qualifications. To Qualify for ND-04 Position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09 through 11 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer: applying fundamental engineering principles to design, develop, and evaluate technical projects or systems; support technical research and analysis to solve intricate engineering problems or conflicts; and coordinating engineering projects and presenting findings to various stakeholders. To Qualify for ND-03 Position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-02 (GS-05 through 08 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer: supporting technical research and analysis, assisting in solving complex engineering problems, and supporting development of technical deliverables.
