Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER (HOUSING DIRECTOR) in the FLEET AND FAMILY READINESS (N9), FAMILY HOUSING DEPARTMENT (N93) of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using expert knowledge in the latest knowledge housing management concepts and techniques to develop/implement housing policies and procedures; 2) Maintaining current knowledge of housing management and related expert knowledge of housing ordinances, Federal, State and regional housing policies, concepts, regulations and laws; 3) Performing program planning and administrating of acquisition, maintenance, housing referral, assignment and operation of Public-Private Venture (PPV) Family Housing and Bachelor Programs; 4) Determining workload and budget requirements for the Housing Program. This may involve periods of walking, standing, stair climbing, bending, reaching, and similar activities during facility visits and inspections. Driving an automobile on station or between activities may be necessary; a valid state driver's license is required. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and/or training. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is primarily performed in an office environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. There may be occasional, incidental exposure to dusty/dirty conditions, hazardous materials, such as lead-based paint, or inclement weather while inspecting facilities undergoing repair, maintenance, or renovations, or to construction sites. Incumbent must observe all occupational safety requirements. Inspection of housing renovations or ongoing work may involve exposure to small amounts of asbestos, lead paint, radon, mold and other hazardous materials. Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
