You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the NAVY FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY PORTSMOUTH NSY.
Job Description
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. If you are an outside applicant (i.e. you do not have current or prior federal competitive or excepted service), your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1)Experience controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; 2)Experience operating a variety of firefighter vehicles, apparatuses and equipment; 3)Experience developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention; and 4)Experience providing hazardous material incident response. If you are an applicant with current or prior Department of Defense competitive or excepted service, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:1)Experience controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; 2)Experience operating a variety of firefighter vehicles, apparatuses or equipment; and 3)Experience initiating established medical protocols to perform basic life support and performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for this position: 1)Firefighter I; 2) Firefighter II; 3) HazMat Awareness; 4) HazMat Operations; 5) HazMat Technician; 6)HazMat Incident Commander; 7) Driver Operator Pumper; 8) Driver Operator Aerial; 9) Fire Officer I; 10) Fire Officer II; 11) Fire Inspector I; and 12) Fire Instructor I. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, NREMT, IFSAC or Proboard to meet the requirements. National Registry Emergency Medical Technician(NREMT) and CPR required. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached a copy of your transcript or certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
