You will serve as a Assistant Chief Engineer (Echelon IV) in the Planning, Design & Construction Command Southeast of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Job Description

This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF) which is current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. If you meet this requirement, you must provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify you meet this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Must have expert knowledge of the professional standards, codes, and practices of engineering and architecture that govern the identification, execution, and delivery of technical policy related to Technical Authority, engineering, design criteria, specifications and cost engineering. 2) Requires professional knowledge and working experience in a minimum of two of the following disciplines: civil, mechanical, electrical, or fire protection engineering, and/or architecture. 3) Must possess expert knowledge of NAVFAC facilities acquisition processes, including project funding, contract requirements, proposal and bidding procedures, and the various types of contracts used for the design, construction, and environmental compliance of Navy and Marine Corps shore facilities. 4) Proficient in cost engineering and ensuring the lowest life-cycle cost for naval infrastructure. This includes coordinating NAVFAC technology development and incorporating cost-effective technical innovations into facility planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance processes. 5) Knowledge of organization, budgeting, planning, and project management techniques; to review, assess, and resolve design and construction issues. 6) Ability to initiate, lead and manage teams and provide support to engineers and technical experts.
