Job Description

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POISITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: A I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1)Disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, assembling, and maintaining the most complex mechanical parts of aircraft components according to detailed maintenance and repair procedures; 2) Disassembling and assembling operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine component assemblies, and accessories; 3) Replacing prescribed parts, checking dimensions and tolerances of parts to determine serviceability and making corrections as necessary; 4) Using special jigs and tools to work efficiently and reading and interpreting specification sheets when checking aircraft engine parts visually and dimensionally for damage or deterioration; 5) Troubleshooting complex components during disassembly and functionally test components/assemblies to determine the area of difficulty, parts required, and the methods and procedures to follow in completing work. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. B I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including: 1)Disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, assembling, and maintaining the most complex mechanical parts of aircraft components according to detailed maintenance and repair procedures; 2) Replacing prescribed parts, checking dimensions and tolerances of parts to determine serviceability and making corrections as necessary; 3) Using special jigs and tools to work efficiently and reading and interpreting specification sheets when checking aircraft engine parts visually and dimensionally for damage or deterioration. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. C I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1)Disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, assembling, and maintaining the most complex mechanical parts of aircraft components according to detailed maintenance and repair procedures; 2) Replacing prescribed parts, checking dimensions and tolerances of parts to determine serviceability and making corrections as necessary. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
