You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide expert-level case management, legal research, and other paralegal support under the supervision of Command Counsel on matters across the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) legal practice portfolio. Provide administrative and litigation support to Command OGC, including document collection and review as well as preparing papers for Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) cases, and arbitrations. Manage the Ethics Program by conducting orientation and exit briefings, tracking and preparing initial and annual ethics training, coordinating workforce ethics notices, and managing the Command's Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting program. Serve as a records liaison (RL) for the legal office and hold oversight responsibility for implementation, management and administration of Records Management (RM). Use legal reference sources, including electronic databases and internet-based reference sites. Perform extensive independent legal research. Familiar with statutory and regulatory requirements and how to interpret those requirements based on legislative history, court decision, internal guidance or policy. Work on numerous issues simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment that requires strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
