Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY DEPUTY SHIPYARD PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT in the Preservation Shop (Code 970) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience supporting and/or performing work across multiple skilled trades including machinist, electrician, electronic industrial controls mechanic, wood crafter, shipwright, boatbuilder, fabric worker, painter, sandblaster, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic, pipefitter and sheet metal mechanic. Experience implementing shipyard policy, continuity of that policy, and the integration and execution of all efforts required to accomplish shipyard and shop goals and objectives. Experience efficiently developing work processes and executing all work assigned. Experience ensuring work processes are fully integrated into the multi trade activities occurring in the execution of complex ship overhauls, repairs and modernization. Experience continuously supporting all assigned work with a skilled workforce, including that performed at remote sites, and that work assigned to the shop in its role as a Navy Wide Center of Excellence for specific functions.
