Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Material Inspector in the Board of Inspection and Survey of PRESINSURV NORVA.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Subject matter expert, with broad knowledge of all Navy material standards governing Shipboard Engineering systems. Experienced in performing and managing the execution of shipboard material inspections, and the management of subordinate inspector performance. Conducts inspections, reviews inspection plans for new construction and in-service USN Navy vessels. Possesses strong organization, and operations knowledge of associated program offices (NAVSEA), and support organizations (TYCOMS, NAVSEA 05) and other entities associated with Naval vessels. Expert engineering systems knowledge and experience, including Main Propulsion Systems, Power generation and distribution systems, shipboard damage control systems, and auxiliary support systems. Expert knowledge on how these systems interface with all other shipboard systems. Experience inspecting Military Sealift Command vessels, and thorough knowledge of American Bureau of Shipbuilding (ABS) standards. Experience with civilian management and development. Experience in developing inspection guides, master event lists, inspection procedures, and standard operating procedures. Experience with scheduling ship inspections and managing resources. Experience in communicating technical issues and recommendations up and down the chain of command and across the full spectrum of program offices, other support SYSCOM organizations, Fleets and TYCOMS. The ability to populate INSURV database tools to facilitate scheduling, inspection coordination, data collection and retrieval, and naval message tracking. Experience in qualification development, implementations, and training of current and prospective boats and craft senior inspectors.
