You will serve as a Motor Vessel Captain Supervisor II of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: have the ability to perform common Motor Vessel Captain Supervisor II tasks including having and maintaining required license and the ability of piloting, chart navigation, restricted visibility navigation, aids to navigation, Inland and International rules of the Road and COLREGS, Radar navigation characteristics of weather systems, and coastal passage-making; Interpreting ship construction, stability and damage control, lifesaving equipment, fire prevention and firefighting equipment, emergency procedures such as grounding, fire or explosion, collision, man overboard and abandoning ship; Broad background of ship and tug operations with extensive experience in ship assist operations; Implementing tug schedules and operations as dictated by Naval Ship arrival/departure schedules, local waterborne craft movement; Develop and schedule vessel overhaul, dry docking and other long-term maintenance and repairs; Interpreting vessel regulations and crew training and qualification.
