Job Summary

You will serve as a Senior Technical Software System Safety Subject Matter Expert in the NAWCAD Lakehurst SE & ALRE Group, Mission Operations and Integration Department, Engineering Integration Division, System Safety and Reliability and Maintainability Branch of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Job Description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional General Engineer, performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Participating in the development and implementation of OSD, Navy and NAVAIR Software Safety policy and processes and evaluating policy compliance associated with legacy manned, unmanned aerial systems, aircraft launch and recovery equipment programs and new acquisition efforts; 2) Providing Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) senior leadership (NAVAIR Chief Engineer, NAVAIR Military Director Air Systems Group, Program Managers, and PMA Chief Engineers) and Principals for Safety (PFS) a defendable and consistent approach to drive contractual and valuable execution of Level of Rigor (LOR) activities with a clear and consistent method to evaluate and document LOR compliance across Navy programs; 3) Supporting and guiding NAVAIR system safety engineering, software engineering and other technical domains in the evaluation of LOR alternate means of compliance through review of software development and assurance artifacts; 4) Supporting the PFS and Technical Warrant Holders in the development of software related System Safety Risk Assessments and be prepared to defend the hazard risk categorization and risk mitigation activities to senior leadership; 5) Providing training across the command, identifying skill gaps, and identifying new and innovative tools needed to improve software safety across the organization.
