Job Description
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Responsible for a wide range of management activities involved in supervising and leading a diverse workforce including Information Technology (IT) Specialists and Technicians performing C4ISR installations on U.S naval vessels. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Develop status reports, brief customers and sponsors in areas such as installation plans and status. Maintain situational awareness of acquisition issues, technical issues, financial issues, and programmatic risks. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensure installation execution and technical issues are resolved in a timely manner and provide mitigation strategies for issues severe in nature. Provide supervision, technical leadership, planning, program/project development, business development, coordination and management of all aspects of the program/project, personnel and facilities of employees assigned to the Branch. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Oversees planning/execution for U.S. Navy Information Technology (IT) Systems. Responsibilities also include maintaining system configuration, resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems and ensuring the rigorous application of Cybersecurity / Information Assurance (IA). In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band NM-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Providing technical and project management oversight; Managing ship and/or submarine installation processes, procedures and resources; Providing resolution to installation problems associated with C4ISR installations and upgrades; and Providing general oversight and/or mentoring to IT specialists and/or technicians.
