This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: RELIABILITY AND DEPENDABILITY I have the ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Perform maintenance and repair on airborne electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical instruments and related equipment with a minimum of guidance; 2) Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, test, calibrate, and install major items and equipment consisting of electro-mechanical computers, control assemblies, inertial guidance systems, directional gyros, rate gyros, vertical gyros, accelerometers, autopilot navigational computers, air data computers, attitude indicating systems, fuel indicating systems, and torque systems; 3) Overhaul, repair, modify, and calibrate unusually complex instruments and equipment including the components and complete systems designed to assist the pilot in the maintenance of flight attitude and navigation; 4) I have a comprehensive trade knowledge of the operating principles related to such equipment and be familiar with the functional relationships and the impact of repairs on all the related devices.
