The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION I have the ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Set up and operate all types of conventional machines, numerically-controlled (NC} Machines and related equipment in the manufacture, rework, and repair of aircraft parts and components, various Fleet Equipment (F/E), and fleet support work; 2) Set up and performs intricate machining applications with multiple setups or operations on conventional and CNC Machine Tools to maintain exacting dimensions; 3) Ses up and performs work on machines such as 5 axis coordinate measuring machines (CMM), waterjet blasting, and cutting machines, grinders, milling machines, lathes, and drills, often using untried tasks and procedures; 4) Independently interpret and maintain accuracy in accordance with the requirements of blueprints, drawings, and sketches, work documents, aircraft technical documents, manuals, bulletins and directives, and/or requests from a Machinist Supervisor; 5) Knowledgeable of all types of metals, metal alloys, composite materials used in aircraft structures, exotic metals used in engine and airframe components, such as Titanium, Waspoloy, Hastoloy, Aermet 100, Nickel Alloys; lnconel, etc.; 6) Knowledge of Carbon Steels, Stainless Steel, Brass, Bronze, Phenolic, Fiberglass, Rubber, Plastics; and other metals or materials common to aircraft repair;7) Extensive knowledge of the effect and relationship of various related work processes, such as heat treating, annealing, welding, plating, and flame spray.
