Job Summary

You will serve as a NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the NUCLEAR FACILITIES & WASTE ENG DIV (CODE 2380), NUCLEAR ENGINEERING and PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Job Description

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience with naval nuclear propulsion plant systems and components, including their design, operation, maintenance, regulatory requirements, performance characteristics, and long-term degradation mechanisms. * Experience working with advanced mathematics, physics, and engineering sciences applied to sophisticated modeling, optimization, and performance evaluation of nuclear systems. * Experience analyzing the most complex engineering problems, developing innovative and practical solutions, making sound judgments under conditions of uncertainty * Experience reading and interpreting the most complex technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics, including advanced engineering diagrams, system layouts, electrical schematics, and process flow diagrams.
