You will serve as a MATERIALS EXPEDITER in the Facilities Sustainment Division, Execution Support Branch of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Knowledge of all materials used in a given line of work. Examples include: Selecting proper material for each particular purpose. Knowledge of special properties, treatments needed, etc., of materials used. 2) The ability to facilitate production using judgment and analysis in areas such as determining work time, preparing and implementing procedures, detecting bottlenecks, making and interpreting reports, keeping records, interpreting technical data, and making computations. 3) Ability to operate with dexterity and safety. This includes consideration of speed and quality of operation; coordination of hand, foot, and body movement; and training and actual record in safety. Manual work where safety of operations or product is one aspect of efficiency and quality of workmanship. It involves not only safety of one's operations, but safety of work product where relevant, i.e., product produced by employees should not have imperfections which will cause accidents. Examples include: Observing safety rules, receiving safety training, following safety codes (electrical, fire prevention, moving equipment, etc.), safety awards received.4) The ability to be trusted to do or provide what is needed and the ability to provide the same results on successive trials. Reliability and dependability is judged in terms of past performance in school, as a citizen in the community, and in jobs that may be different from the position being filled.5) Ability to work independently, make decisions, plan operations, show job responsibility, and exercise initiative.
