You will serve as a Sheet Metal Mechanic Leader in the Aviation Maintenance/Material Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE 1.) Leading a team in sheet metal maintenance and repair of aircraft fuselage and component structures within a Depot-level Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI) environment. 2.) A comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of the CH-53 Type/Model/Series aircraft is mandatory. 3.) Work independently to plan and delegate work, make sound technical decisions, and exercise initiative. 4.) Instructing subordinates in proper maintenance practices, inspecting all work to ensure it conforms to requirements, and providing objective feedback. 5.) Ability to identify aircraft discrepancies, determine methods and labor cost for repair, and proficiency in the use and maintenance of all associated hand tools, test equipment, and maintenance instruction manuals.
