Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer or Architect (Design Director) in the Design Division, Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) Directorate of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Job Description
This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF) that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The SPF is current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. If you meet this requirement, you must provide a copy of your current registration with your application for verification purposes. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify you meet this requirement. In addition to the SPF and Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying, expertise in advanced engineering or architectural theories, concepts, principles, standards, methods and practices in project planning, engineering and design; 2) Exercising initiative and leadership through ingenuity, persuasive ability, fairness, integrity, tact and sound judgment to manage teams; 3) Contracting for government services and the contractor selection process; 4) Applying knowledge of organization, budgeting, planning, and project management techniques to review, assess, and resolve design and construction issues; 5) Applying knowledge of NAVFAC facilities acquisition, project funding authority levels and sources, contract requirements, contract documents, proposal and bidding procedures; and 6) Communicating effectively through oral and written expression to conduct formal presentations and briefings to high-level civilian and military leaders.
