Job Summary
You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/OCEANOGRAPHER in the SURVEY READINESS DIVISION (N35) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Job Description
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and professional knowledge of Physical Science and Oceanography including theory, techniques and methods of oceanography and geophysical instrumentation, operation and maintenance. Experience demonstrating the preparation of survey training objectives, survey plans, technical briefs, technical papers, budget documentation, and personnel management documentation. Experience ensuring that a wide spectrum of environmental data is collected per ship without data collection systems interfering with each other. Experience utilizing NAVOCEANO/DOD/DON travel regulations for monitoring and coordinating survey travel training to maintain readiness and certification.
