You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER/MECHANICAL ENGINEER/AEROSPACE ENGINEER/PHYSICIST/CHEMIST in the PROPULSION & ENERGETICS DIVISION, WEAPONS & ENERGETICS DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Job Description
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade level or DP-05 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Being a recognized subject matter expert (SME) in the field of propellant and fuel combustion as demonstrated through authored peer-reviewed publications on science combustion topics, presented publications and presentations at multiple meetings and/or conferences, and has participated and contributed to at least National and preferably International meetings and collaborations; 2) Having relevant work experience in solid propellant and solid fuel combustion that includes propellant and fuel combustion experimentation, diagnostics, and testing, as demonstrated through proposal writing, project execution and publications; 3) Having a documented record of successfully acquiring funding and executing a projects as a Principal Investigator (PI) combustion science related R&D Projects through the proposal process; 4) Having experience with mentoring newer engineers/student interns, scientists, and technicians; 5) Providing evidence of successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
