Job Summary
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING PLANNING PROGRAM (MEPP) Division (N77) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience demonstrating utilization of advanced principles and practices of naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and maintenance management as applied to ship design, life cycle management, maintenance, and engineering management of a diverse fleet of ships with unique mission requirements that enables the incumbent to serve as an expert in ship design, operation, maintenance, engineering, and automation. Experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of assigned Maintenance Engineering Planning Program programs. Experience directing and guiding an engineering program including acquiring and administering resources, integrating internal and external program/policy issues, and evaluating effectiveness. Experience with management oversight on engineering requirements for ships, acquisition, maintenance, repair, alteration, conversion, and modernization including overhaul and construction projects. Experience in managing a large Engineering organization to accomplish and integrate programs and projects involving ship maintenance and repair, modernization, equipment and system design integration, life extension, safety management, maintenance engineering, and new ship acquisition including conversion. Experience with oral and written communication to include delivering concise, authoritative reports; in addition to reporting on progress, outcomes of engineering assignments and presenting recommendations.
