Job Summary
You will serve as a MATERIALS ENGINEER in the Materials Engineering Department and MRO Engineering Group of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The incumbent serves as a senior level materials engineer who provides advanced technical services, training, analysis, and project leadership to engineering organizations, maintenance and industrial shops, and fleet support teams, which support the overhaul and operations of Navy/Marine aircraft.
Job Description
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating the ability to serve as a Materials Engineer Subject Matter Expert for materials and industrial processes in an aerospace production setting; 2) Supporting in-service engineering on complex aerospace systems as a Materials Engineering Subject Matter Expert; 3) Serving as a Materials Engineering Subject Matter Expert supporting Command Quality requirements and ensuring compliance; and 4) Developing, implementing and managing Laboratory Quality Management System requirements and processes (e.g., identifying quality issues and initiating correction actions for resolution, conducting training to engineering staff, management and maintenance of laboratory engineering directives and standard operating procedures, and supporting/leading internal audits of laboratory processes to ensure quality system compliance).
