Job Description
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in providing technical design direction in the acquisition of medical/dental facilities; 2) Providing consultation services in all phases of medical facility acquisition including, but not limited to, research planning, design, construction, and operation and maintenance within the technical programs assigned; 3) Managing the execution of significant medical engineering involving the coordination of multi-faceted teams of engineers and architects in the area of criteria preparation, architect/engineering (A/E) selection, A/E negotiation, consultation during construction, and post-occupancy evaluations.
