You will serve as a PLANNER & ESTIMATOR (RIGGER) in the RIGGING AND OPERATIONS DIVISION (CODE 740), LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Job Description

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO PROVIDE PRODUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES: Planning and accounting for the safe handling of loads, compliance of safety, and proper alignment of resources and material to avoid delays. Coordinating with vendors to obtain quotes, evaluate options, and plan delivery of equipment and material. Utilizing broad expert level understanding of rigging standards, regulations and use of equipment such as slings, hoist, pulleys, and cranes. Applying trade background knowledge to determine proper sequence of work, assist trade requirements, manpower, equipment, and material required. Reading and interpreting plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications, sketches, test memorandums, and similar documents.
